RRCA JOINS NATIONAL PHYSICAL ACTIVITY PLAN

The RRCA has joined The National Physical Activity Plan as an Organizational Partner.
Organizational Partners play a central role in all aspects of the development, launch
and implementation of the National Physical Activity Plan.
Russ Pate, Chair of the National Plan Coordinating Committee said, "The RRCA is 
positioned to provide exceptional leadership in developing The Plan and in implementing
it in communities across the nation."
"The RRCA has a strategic goal to increase our national advocacy efforts on behalf
of the running community and to be a major, collaborative partner with health organizations
seeking to promote the importance of regular exercise," explained Jean Knaack, RRCA
executive director. "The RRCA's involvement with the development and implementation
of the National Physical Activity Plan enables our organization to take an increased
leadership role in promoting running as a healthy exercise choice for the American
population."

RRCA RENEWAL PERIOD

This time of year we start getting inquiries about renewal timing.  As a reminder,
RRCA membership runs on the calendar year regardless of when you joined or renewed
your membership dues.  All clubs and events must renew by the beginning of the calendar
year to ensure that their activities for the year are covered by the insurance program.
The 2010 renewal period will begin in early November, and we will send an announcement
when the renewal information is posted on the website.
For budgeting purposes for 2010, the RRCA Board has determined that there will be
no increase in the RRCA dues rates.  We are waiting on final numbers from our insurance
providers and will announce 2010 rates as soon as they are finalized.  It is looking
good for a no-rate increase for the third year in a row.

2009 National Running Awards
The RRCA is accepting nominations for the 2009 National Running Awards. The nomination
